The Sealyham Terrier can be a very strong willed breed. First time owners must be aware of this from the start. Even as puppies you must be firm but fair with them. With the correct training and handling Sealyhams are a joy to live with and very loyal to their owners. They can be a vocal breed if allowed to get away with it and for a small dog they have a BIG bark! Another thing to be taken into consideration before you decide on a Sealyham is the coat. Sealyham coats do need thorough grooming and regularly otherwise they end up very matted very quickly.
